Carrots have long been credited with the ability to improve vision and, there is a scientific basis to it, since carrots contain beta carotene that is converted to vitamin A in the body, which is an important nutrient for eye health.
However, they certainly cannot correct refractive errors. Refractive errors are fairly common in children and after an evaluation by a pediatric ophthalmologist, require correction (usually in the form of spectacles).
However, please do continue to give carrots in reasonable quantity to your children. It provides fiber in the diet and is not very calorie dense, filling up your child without a tendency to obesity and avoiding constipation.
